So after 6 weeks of hand holding, Mike and Mike are on their own, in Australia, 24 hours a day for the next week couped up in a small campervan, it'll will be a bean-free diet for sure!
The beginning of our big adventure in Australia starts in Perth in Western Australia on Wednesday 4th November.Itinerary
Day 1 - Nov 4th - Albany
The oldest European settlement in the state and once a thriving whaling port, now a great place to view some of Australia's most rugged and spectacular scenery.
Day 2 - Nov 5th - Margaret River
Leaving Albany towards Hamelin Bay in the Margaret River region, we will visit the Walpole -Nornalup National Park to do the Tree Top walk and the Valley of the Giants drive.
Day 3 - Nov 6th - Margaret River
Visit Leeuwin Lighthouse, spot sting-ray (the fish not the TV series but that would be cool!), visit wineries (Mike N will be Des) and chill out.
Day 4 - Nov 7th - Fremantle
Visit Fremantle Prison. Hopefully leave Fremantle prison.
Day 5 - Nov 8th - Perth
Dump van, hop on a tram and visit King's Park if we can...poetry.
Day 6 - Nov 9th - 1225 flight to Alice Springs
We then join our 3rd Intrepid Tour...(another donation over the years to the Intrepid CEO's new swimming pool appeal!)
Itinerary
Day 7 - Nov 10th - Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Springing from the barren, flat outback, this ancient rock formation captivates with its sheer size and vibrant colour. Spend the afternoon walking around the perimeter (would climbing it again be wrong ?) and learn about Tjukurpa, traditional Indigenous law. Over a few glasses of sparkling wine at sunset, witness the rock's chameleon hues as the sun melts into the outback.
Day 8 - Nov 11th - Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)/ Kings Creek Station
Rise early to enjoy daybreak over Uluru, then head to Kata Tjuta for a 8 km hike through the Valley of the Winds. Drive through dramatic, desolate terrain before reaching a working cattle station. Enjoy bush tucker by the fire and spend the night under a blanket of stars (no air con, well, no windows actually!)

Hike 7 km through Watarrka, past towering walls and crevices and through the enchanting Amphitheatre and mysterious Lost City. Cool off in tranquil rockpools. Visit the local Lilla Indigenous community for lunch and get swept up in the magic of the community's Dreamtime stories and legends. Then take to the 4WD track, pounding over riverbeds and sand dunes to Alice, where the tour concludes.

Day 13 - Nov 16th
Today we leave Sydney and get on a jet plane to Auckland, New Zealand for the next arm (and a leg) of Mike and Mike's Big Adventure....but we will only say 'au revoir ' to Oz as we will return to Melbourne in December after our New Zealand Tour........
