Food and Drink Part 1

Well, as you know...I loves my food and Singapore offers everything, the food is as diverse as the population - Chinese, Thai, Indian, Malay and European. Whichever country I seem to go, it appears that I wil only feel truly comfortable once the following criteria have been satisfied: i. know the price of the food and drink (so you don't get ripped off - which we did!) and ii. know my way around the area (by walking) and iii. know the price of a taxi, rickshaw when you're tired of walking.
Breakfast consisted of some tofu rolls, sesame buns and fresh pineapple juice, it was all that we felt comfortable with at the time. The tofu suspiciously tasted like a chicken dinner (from memory) and the buns were with us the rest of the day. Lunch was fantastic, spicy noodle soup and udon noodles with veg from a cafe in Chinatown (39 Temple St)- there appears to be alot of vegetarian meats (gluton) which add texture and taste so this may be a good sign for China (personally, I like my pets to remain as pets!).
Dinner was being served in a very friendly cafe near Boat Quay (Thai Smile Cafe,Lor Telok), it wasVietamese Spring Rolls, Prawn Phad Thai (Noodles) and Veg Fried Rice accompanied by 2 large bottles of Tiger Beer- it was so goodwe went thee the next night (and because we were tired of searching).
Second breakfast was abit more conventional but don't (as we did) get confused with half-boiled and hard boiled eggs - big difference - these were returned for more heat to transform them into something more western - after all, raw eggs are for body builders right?

Day 1 in Singapore

Mike joins in a debate with the locals.... award winning shot of Singapores skyscrapers.. and despite torrential rain this morning, we made it to the Singapore Flyer, at 165m tall, the biggest observation wheel in the world... sorry, but knocks spots off the london eye ;-)

The ultimate technology?

So...after over 4 hours at heathrow, 12hours on a plane, then a train... we arrive at the hotel. Did we go straight out to see the sights of Singapore? Nope. We studied the instructions for what has to be one of the best uses of technology a bathroom has ever seen....

Heathrow Sunrise

We have arrived at Heathrow after a light hearted discussion about which terminal we should go to....I'm looking forward to my 12 hrs of sitting on my arse, reading, listening to music and watching films andthe odd glass of wine.
